Company Profile	:	L&m Petroleum Limited Is A New Zealand Incorporated Company Which Dual Listed On The Australian Stock Exchange Limited (asx) And New Zealand Exchange (nzx) On 11 January 2007 After Raising Aud$20 Million In A Fully Underwritten Initial Public Offering. The Company Holds Four Petroleum Exploration Permits Onshore And Offshore In The Western Southland Basin Of The South Island Of New Zealand. The Company Will Carry Out An Aggressive Exploration Programme Over The Next Two Years Focusing On The Discovery Of Major Oil And Gas Resources. The Company Has Been Active Since 2003, Spending, Prior To The Initial Public Offering, In Excess Of Nz$7 Million Undertaking Exploration Activities In Its Permits, Which Cover An Entire Oil And Gas Generating Petroleum Basin In The South Island Of New Zealand. L&m Petroleum Ltd Holds 100% Of Three Exploration Permits In And Off The Southern Coast Of Western Southland, New Zealand. In Addition, L&m Petroleum Holds 50% Of Another Onshore Permit, Pep 38226 (waiau) Along With Joint Venture Partner, Mighty River Power. Previous Activity Undertaken In The Region By Earlier Explorers Included Mining Of Oil Shales In Orepuki In The Early 1900s, Numerous Shallow Mineral And Coal Seam Gas Wells In The Waiau And Ohai Areas, More Than 5,000 Km Of Seismic Surveys And Two Offshore And Two Onshore Petroleum Exploration Wells Drilled In The 1970s And 1980s. While Failing To Find Commercial Quantities Of Oil Or Gas, The Exploratory Data Acquired Through This Work Has Demonstrated That The Basins Have All The Elements Of A Petroleum Province. L&m Petroleum�s Exploration Is Now Focused On A Number Of Prospective Structures And Leads In The Waiau, Te Anau And Waitutu Sub-basins Onshore And The Waitutu And Solander Sub-basins Offshore. Compared To Similar Sedimentary Basins Elsewhere In The World, Exploration Of These Has Only Just Begun. In The Opinion Of Independent Exploration Advisors To The Company These Basins Have The Potential To Contain Trillions Of Cubic Feet Of Natural Gas And Hundreds Of Millions Of Barrels Of Petroleum Liquids. New Zealand And World Petroleum Demand Is Projected To Remain Strong For The Foreseeable Future. L&m Management Believes That Commercialisation Of Discoveries In New Basins, Like Western Southland, Will Be Possible In Relatively Short Time Spans.
